YOUTH BEATZ 2013 - SATURDAY 10TH AUGUST 2013, DAVID KESWICK ATHLETIC CENTRE, DUMFRIES

Youth Beatz 2010

Line Up 2010

Youth Beatz 2010 took place over 2 days on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th July at Dock Park, Dumfries, attracting almost 12,000 people.  The free event was open from 6.30pm – 10.30pm on the Friday and 1pm – 5pm on the Saturday.

There were several new elements to Youth Beatz in 2010 with the introduction of a walking parade from the mid steeple to Dock Park, the moving of the main stage to the opposite end of the park and the first version of Wonderland was introduced.

The Wonderland Area had an Alice in Wonderland theme, providing young people with an interactive learning experience, for more information, click HERE

Staff at the 3 entrances to the event recorded unique attendances of 8967 on the Friday evening and 2998 on the Saturday afternoon, giving a total of just under 12,000 for the whole event.

The Saturday focussed on engagement with young people (Wonderland), activity based entertainment, youth services information and stage performances including Freddie from Skins, and local talent on show.

The Friday was focussed more on music from the main stage with Jay Ingram, More From Jim, Finding Albert, Reece and Beatbullyz entertaining the crowds until main act N-DUBZ took to the stage to wow the audience.

N-DUBZ were highlighted at an early stage as potential headliners.  They were arguably one of the hottest pop acts in 2010 and arrived on the back of headline performances at Glastonbury Festival, T4 on the Beach and iTunes Festival.  To secure an act with the profile of N-DUBZ was seen as a real coup for Youth Beatz and for Dumfries.
